New training material
The training material from the last training (sept 2026) at EMBL HD is now online. Besides hands-on tutorials, the material includes links to slides and recording of the talks.
SSO and Multi-Instance WorkflowHub
This release adds single sign-on and multi-instance WorkflowHub support. Users can configure multiple WorkflowHub endpoints, choose where to publish workflow versions, and decide whether annotations should be kept when deriving samples from specimens.
Ontologies and No Code Assay
This release introduces two major new features: Ontologies and No Code Assays. Ontologies feature mapping of official ontology terms to LabID annotations, improving the data quality tremendously. No Code Assays allow admin users to create and manage new assay types on the fly, making LabID even more flexible and ensuring that user needs can be met without code changes.
Registration opened for the next LabID training at EMBL Heidelberg
The next in-person training (1.5 day) will take place at EMBL Heidelberg on September 28-29th, 2026.
Vue 3 & Django Upgrade
This release upgrades the UI from Vue 2 to Vue 3 and the server from Django 3.2 to Django 5.2 LTS. On the UI side, users get improved responsiveness, multi-instance Galaxy support, and better record selection with drag-to-select. The CLI gains a dedicated `register wfrun_crate` command for workflow runs coming as RO-Crate, while the original `register wfrun` has a new `--search-strategy-table` option. The documentation also features new trainings describing workflow runs registration via the UI and the CLI.

Data Management Enhancements
This release introduces single-folder datafile expansion for simplified building of multidatafile datasets, enhanced S3 storage support with HTTPS URI form and MinIO configuration updates, and the ability to remove annotations from multiple items at once. It also includes bug fixes and interface improvements.
LabID-PROV Workflow Run Support & UI Enhancements
This release introduces advanced workflow management with comprehensive Workflow Run support and improved integration with WorkflowHub. Numerous user interface enhancements have been made, including online visualisation for supported dataset file types.
Server improvements
Server-only release with new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
S3
This release mainly brings the new ability to share dataset copies on S3 Storage.
